Learning, creating and celebrating the photographic image. From the annual workshop at Ninasam to state-level competition and the national salon, SPS brings photographers together to develop their craft, share their work and discover new ways of seeing.
At Ninasam in Heggodu, photography becomes a shared practice of looking, questioning and learning. SPS’s annual residential workshop brings together practical shooting sessions, lectures and thoughtful image reviews, with conversations that reach into art, cinema and literature. It is an opportunity to strengthen photographic fundamentals, explore visual storytelling and return to the camera with a more attentive eye.
STATE-LEVEL COMPETITION
A stage for Karnataka’s photographers
The SPS state-level photography competition gives photographers an opportunity to present their work alongside different voices from Karnataka. It celebrates observation, imagination and the care that turns a subject into a compelling image. Through the experience of selecting and sharing photographs, participants can reflect on their own visual language and encounter fresh approaches to familiar subjects.
NATIONAL SALON
A wider photographic conversation
The SPS national salon brings photographic work from across India into a shared space of appreciation. Different landscapes, lives and artistic approaches meet through the image, extending the society’s conversation beyond Malnad. It offers photographers an opportunity to submit their work for consideration and take part in the tradition of the photographic salon.
